Paton J Dennison – Director

Paton J Dennison (aka PJD) is the Founding Partner of our firm.

He advises on various aspects of the law regarding Litigation, Companies, Public Procurement, Immigration, Municipalities and other Organs of state, challenging Cellphone towers, and Projects. Paton has a Masters and Bachelors degree in Law (cum laude) from the University of the Free State. Paton is also a Notary Public and has right of appearance in the High Court.

Paton graduated with an LLB degree from the University of the Free State and completed his Masters Degree in International Investment Law, Risk Management, and Private Law within a year. He immediately joined Adams & Adams attorneys (Pretoria) as a candidate and later a professional assistant in the Commercial, Property, and Litigation department. He later joined the projects and infrastructure team at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr as an associate, whereafter he joined Nortons Inc as a senior associate.

Paton established attorneys: PJD Legal in 2015 in order to render high quality, niche services ordinarily only offered by large firms, at rates and terms accessible to SMME and individuals.


Paton has gained experience in, inter alia, the following types of matters:

  • Cellular technology: Assisting in preventing the installation of cell phone towers and securing the removal on sites within Gauteng and the Western Cape.
  • Advising on the competencies of, and compliance by, municipalities in terms of the MFMA, Municipal Property Rates Act; Municipal Systems Act, and Municipal Structures Act;
  • Advising on the compliance of tender processes to the PPPFA regulations and case law including on the establishment of public entities;
  • Advising on the Electricity Regulation Act, New Generation Capacity Regulations, etc;
  • Advising on approvals, permits, licenses, etc., necessary for the development, construction and operation of an LPG plant;
  • The Renewable Energy IPP Procurement Programme;
  • All aspects of company law including litigation before the Companies Tribunal;
  • Commercial drafting;
  • Litigation in all courts and arbitration before all forum;
  • Urgent release applications for detained foreigners.
  • Advising in white collar crime matters involving alleged corruption, asset forfeiture, human trafficking, and money laundry.

Fannie Zim

Fannie Zim is an Associate of our firm.

He advises on various aspects of the law regarding labour, civil and criminal litigation. Fannie has a bachelors degree in Law from the University of Free State.

Fannie graduated with an LLB from the University of Free State. Fannie joined the Public Protector as an Intern. He served his articles at Legal Aid SA as a Candidate Attorney, whereafter he joined Ngwane Associates & Attorneys as an Associate.


Fannie has gained experience in, inter alia, the following types of matters:

  • 4 years’ experience in the legal services
  • Experience in various fields of law including and not limited to legal advice, drafting, reviewing, court pleadings, wills, labour, civil and criminal litigation

Carly Anuschka Moses

Carly is a Senior Paralegal and the Office Manager of our firm.

She attends to Paralegal work including debt collection, attending to Court proceedings, drafting of legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings, as well as company secretarial attendees at the Companies & Intellectual Property Commission.

She handles the organizing of all administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the office as well as supervising other support and professional staff.

Carly has more than 5 years’ experience as a Paralegal and has a Debt Collection Certificate which she obtained from LEAD SA.

Carly joined The PJD Law Firm as a Junior Paralegal in September 2016.

Lauren King

Lauren is the Associate Attorney at our firm.

Lauren assists on various aspects of the law regarding Litigation in both the Magistrates Court and High Court including matters such as Evictions, Debt Collection, and Contract Drafting.

Lauren graduated with an LLB degree from the University of Pretoria in 2016. She later joined Malherbe Rigg and Ranwell attorneys as a candidate attorney assisting with Magistrates and High Court Litigation until 2019. She later joined Directline Holdings a contracts administrator, whereafter she joined the PJD Law Firm in 2020 as an associate.

Lebogang Thobejane

Lebogang is employed as a Candidate Attorney at the Firm.

She is primarily involved in registration and maintenance of companies, research, opinion writing, drafting notices and pleadings, litigation in Magistrate Court.

Lebogang graduated with an LLB Degree from UNISA and holds a National Diploma (Food Technology) from Tshwane University of Technology. Before joining the legal profession, Lebogang worked in the FMCG for various Food and Beverage manufacturing companies such as Pepsico SA, Kraft Foods and Promasidor SA for number of years.

Lebogang has held positions in Research & Development and Regulatory Compliance focusing on food and beverage products.


Lebogang has gained experience in, inter alia, the following:

Nombulelo Tshabalala

Nombulelo is a Realtor and Paralegal of our firm.

She handles all property sales, rentals, and management transactions.

Nombulelo has a Real Estate NQF 4 certificate which she obtained in 2013 as well as a Higher Certificate in Law obtained from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2018.

As an aspiring attorney, she also does paralegal work including debt collection, preparing invoices to clients, filing, and serving of court papers, preparing court papers, particulars of claim, agreements, and various other documents

Nombulelo worked as call centre agent at Nudebt Management. In June 2014 she moved on to start her career in Real Estate with Seeff Properties as in intern estate agent. Nombulelo then joined The PJD Law Firm in May 2020 as a Real Estate agent and Paralegal
